Nightmare in Idaho: Arlo's Promotion

Moving is a comedy film released in 1988, directed by Alan Metter and starring Richard Pryor as Arlo Pear, a man who accepts a job promotion that requires him and his family to move from New Jersey to Boise, Idaho. Arlo's dream promotion turns into a nightmare as he encounters a series of hilarious misadventures and challenges while trying to relocate his family to their new home.

The plot of the movie centers on Arlo's attempts to sell their home, pack their belongings, and move across the country with his wife Monica (played by Beverly Todd), two teenage children and a dog. Along the way, they encounter several obstacles such as a crooked real estate agent, a moving company that damages their belongings and leaves them stranded, and a group of eccentric neighbors who make life more difficult for them.

As the moving day approaches, Arlo finds himself in a race against time to complete the move before his new employer loses patience and fires him. He also has to deal with his teenage son, who is reluctant to leave his girlfriend behind, and his daughter's crush on one of the movers.

Despite the challenges, Arlo and his family eventually make it to their new home in Boise, where they discover that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
