Emmett is a successful businessman who lives with his wife Anya in an upscale neighborhood. The two have been happily married for several years, but things take a dark turn when Anya suddenly start to behave very strangely.
Anya, who has always been a warm and caring wife, begins to take on the persona of Emmett's mother who recently passed away. She starts to mimic her mother-in-law's mannerisms, speech patterns, and habits, and it quickly becomes clear to Emmett that something is very wrong.
As Anya's behavior becomes more and more erratic, Emmett becomes increasingly concerned and decides to bring her to therapy. But instead of being a place of healing and reconciliation, the therapy sessions become a nightmarish game of manipulation and control as Anya uses her newly-adopted persona to get under Emmett's skin.
As Emmett struggles to understand what is happening to his wife, he begins to confront long-held secrets and issues within their marriage. He must navigate the treacherous waters of therapy while battling his own inner demons and the increasingly alarming behavior of his wife.
With each session, Emmett's relationship with Anya becomes more tenuous and fragile, until it all comes to a head in a shocking final confrontation that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. The film is a haunting exploration of the power of the mind and the depths of the human psyche.
