The movie Most Likely to Murder follows Billy (Adam Pally), who was the coolest kid in his high school before leaving his hometown. After 15 years, he comes back to attend his mother's funeral and finds out that he's no longer popular, desirable, or successful. He tries to win back the hearts of his former classmates but fails miserably.
Billy then discovers that the girl he had a crush on in high school, Kara (Rachel Bloom), is still living in the town and is engaged to Lowell (Vincent Kartheiser), who used to be the biggest outcast in school. Billy becomes obsessed with proving that Lowell is a murderer after he sees him acting suspiciously.
He starts spying on him, following him around, and even breaks into his house to find evidence. However, his attempts to uncover the truth only make him look crazier to the town. Eventually, Billy realizes that he has been wrong about Lowell all along and that his obsession has caused more harm than good.
