The movie Mosquito begins with a group of hikers in a U.S. National Park who witness a bright light in the sky. Shortly after, they hear loud crashing sounds and follow them to a swamp where they discover an alien starship. As they approach the wreckage, they realize that the alien crew is dead and mosquitos are already feeding on their remains.
Unbeknownst to the hikers, the mosquitos have been genetically altered by the alien's blood, causing them to grow to an enormous size and develop an insatiable appetite for human blood. As the hikers try to escape, they are attacked by the mutant insects and forced to hide in the wilderness, desperate for survival.
As news of the attacks spreads to the nearby town, a group of survivors come together to fight against the monstrous mosquitos. Led by a park ranger, they devise a plan to eliminate the creatures before they can spread further and potentially cause a worldwide epidemic.
The group uses weapons and traps to fight off the mosquitos, but their efforts are continually hindered by the creatures' intelligence and aggression. The survivors soon discover that the mosquitos are reproducing at an alarming rate, and they must act fast to prevent a catastrophe.
After a series of epic battles, the group is ultimately successful in killing the remaining mosquitos and preventing the spread of the mutation. However, they are left to deal with the aftermath of the horrific events that have transpired and the emotional toll they have taken on their community.
