The three young women are Grace, Emma, and Meg, who are all best friends from Texas. Grace and Emma are step-sisters, and Meg is their friend. Grace is a tomboy who wants to backpack across Europe, while Emma is more interested in shopping and luxury. Meg is caught in the middle, trying to keep the peace between them.
After arriving in Paris, Grace is mistaken for Cordelia Winthrop Scott, a wealthy British heiress who is scheduled to attend a charity gala in Monte Carlo. Grace and her friends decide to pose as Cordelia and her entourage, hoping to enjoy the lavish lifestyle that comes with being a socialite.
As they settle into their new identities, Grace meets Theo, a charming young man who works for the charity organization hosting the gala. Emma falls for a wealthy Frenchman named Pierre, while Meg becomes friends with a British girl named Amanda.
However, their plan hits a snag when Cordelia unexpectedly shows up in Monte Carlo. With the help of Theo and Amanda, the girls try to keep their deception from being exposed and navigate their way through the glamorous and dangerous world of high society.
