Frank is a curious and adventurous young boy who loves exploring the woods and surrounding areas near his home in Sweden. One day, while playing in the garden, he discovers a small, friendly monkey whom he names Monky.
Frank brings Monky into his home, but it doesn't take long for his family to realize that Monky isn't a regular monkey. She seems to exhibit oddly human-like behavior and can even speak. Soon, it becomes clear that Monky is not from Sweden, but instead comes from a distant jungle village.
Frank feels a special connection to Monky and wants to keep her as his pet. However, his family must decide what is best for the monkey. They soon learn that Monky has been brought to Sweden as part of a medical experiment and must be returned to her village before it's too late.
