Monkey Trouble is a family comedy film from 1994, directed by Franco Amurri. The movie follows the story of a young girl named Eva, played by Thora Birch, who wishes for a pet monkey for her birthday. Her mother, played by Mimi Rogers, is hesitant to get her a pet monkey and insists on getting her a dog instead.

One day, Eva comes across a criminal monkey named Dodger, who belongs to a street performer. Dodger has been trained to pickpocket and steal, but he quickly becomes attached to Eva and escapes his life of crime. Eva takes Dodger home and hides him in her room, keeping him a secret from her mother and brother.

As Eva spends more time with Dodger, she soon realizes the challenges that come with taking care of a primate. Dodger causes chaos and havoc around the house, but Eva is determined to keep him as her pet. However, things take a turn when the street performer comes looking for Dodger and threatens to take him back.

With the help of a neighbor and her brother, Eva comes up with a plan to save Dodger from being taken away and to keep him as her pet. The movie ends on a heartwarming note as Eva and Dodger come to a deeper understanding and bond with each other.

Monkey Trouble features an all-star cast including Harvey Keitel, Christopher McDonald, and Alison Elliott. The film received mixed reviews upon its release but has since gained a cult following as a beloved family comedy.
