"Monkey Shines" is a horror film directed by George A. Romero, released in 1988. The film follows a quadriplegic man named Allan Mann (played by Jason Beghe) who is given a monkey named Ella to assist him in his daily life. Ella is part of a program run by Mann's friend and scientist Geoffrey Fisher, who has been experimenting on monkeys in order to enhance their intelligence and train them to perform human tasks.
