Mondo Cane 2 (also known as Mondo Pazzo) is a 1963 Italian shockumentary film. It is the official sequel to the original Mondo Cane, which focused on bizarre and controversial behavior from around the world. Similarly, Mondo Cane 2 explores even more strange and graphic rituals from different cultures, including animal cruelty, cannibalism, and violence.
The film features a variety of segments, including a tribe in Papua New Guinea that practices self-mutilation and bloodletting as a form of mourning, a Japanese festival that involves men jumping into freezing cold water with snow on their bodies, and an American scientist who experiments on animals to try to revive the dead.
Mondo Cane 2 also includes shocking footage of slaughterhouses and butchers, as well as graphic scenes of animal cruelty. It is known for its explicit and disturbing content, with some scenes depicting actual deaths.
