Mom is a 2017 Indian crime thriller film directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Boney Kapoor, Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal, and Gautam Jain. The film stars Sridevi as Devki Sabarwal, a biology teacher, and a stepmother to a teenage daughter named Arya, played by Sajal Ali. The film also features Akshaye Khanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Abhimanyu Singh, and Adnan Siddiqui in supporting roles.

The story revolves around Devki, who tries to connect with her stepdaughter Arya, but Arya is cold towards her and wants nothing to do with her. One night, Arya goes to a party and is abducted and sexually assaulted by Jagan and his gang. When Arya returns home bruised and traumatized, Devki tries to file a complaint with the police, but they refuse to help because Jagan is the son of a powerful politician.

Frustrated with the legal system, Devki decides to take matters into her own hands and hunt down Jagan and his gang. She seeks the help of a private detective, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, to identify the criminals and their location. Devki then uses her skills as a biology teacher to plan and execute her revenge, with the help of a gun that she had bought earlier for self-defense.

As the story progresses, it is revealed that Devki has a dark past that she had kept hidden from her family. She had been involved in a similar incident where she was assaulted and had lost her biological daughter. Her thirst for revenge and justice for Arya is fueled by her own pain and loss.

The film ends with a thrilling showdown between Devki and Jagan and his gang, resulting in the death of all the criminals. Devki is arrested, but she accepts the consequences of her actions, knowing that she had done the right thing to protect her family and seek justice for her daughter.

The film received positive reviews for its performances, direction, and storyline and was praised for its message of empowering women to seek justice and fight for their rights.
