Moliere is a 2007 French film directed by Laurent Tirard. The film is a fictionalized account of the life of the famous French playwright and actor Molière. The story is set in 17th-century France, where Moliere (played by Romain Duris) is struggling to make a living as a playwright and actor, despite his great talent.
In the film, Moliere is deeply in debt to a group of actors and a wealthy man named Jourdain (played by Fabrice Luchini).
