Misty Button is a dark comedy film that follows the lives of two Irish immigrants, James and Eoin, who are struggling to make ends meet in New York City. James, played by actor Cillian O'Sullivan, has just lost his job and his wife and is in desperate need of money. Together with Eoin, played by actor Shaun Kennedy, the two friends team up to do a job for the slippery Timmy Thomas, played by actor John Keating.
Their task is to go to the racetrack and place a bet on a winning horse for Timmy. However, with their lack of experience and clumsiness, James and Eoin mess up their task, putting themselves in serious trouble with a group of gangsters. To make matters worse, a woman named Sara, played by actor Julia Nightingale, who has a soft spot for Irish accents and a love for money, sets her sights on James.
As the story unfolds, Misty Button takes the audience on a wild ride through the seedy underbelly of New York City. The film showcases the hard-drinking and partying culture of Irish immigrants who are trying to make a living in the US.
