Mister America is a satirical mockumentary film written by Tim Heidecker, Gregg Turkington, and director Eric Notarnicola. The film follows the fictionalized story of Tim Heidecker, who plays a version of himself, as he attempts to become the district attorney of San Bernardino County in California.

The story begins with Heidecker defending himself in court against charges that he sold faulty e-cigarettes that resulted in the death of several people at an electronic dance music festival. Despite overwhelming evidence against him, Heidecker manages to beat the charges and is ultimately acquitted.

Fueled by a newfound sense of confidence and a desire for revenge against the San Bernardino district attorney who brought the charges against him, Heidecker decides to run for the office himself. With the help of a ragtag team of campaign volunteers and a small amount of funding, Heidecker embarks on a grassroots campaign to win over voters and unseat the incumbent.

Throughout the film, Heidecker's lack of political experience and questionable tactics – including attempting to bribe a potential opponent and staging a fake debate – become increasingly apparent. As his campaign spirals out of control, Heidecker's personal flaws and deep-seated insecurities begin to surface, leading to a disastrous election day.

Mister America is a biting satire of American politics, with a particular focus on the modern phenomenon of outsider candidates with little political experience mounting improbable campaigns. The film's deadpan humor and surreal interludes serve to underscore the absurdity of the political process and the inherent flaws in the electoral system.
