Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is the fourth installment in the Mission: Impossible film series and was directed by Brad Bird. The movie features Tom Cruise reprising his role as agent Ethan Hunt, Jeremy Renner as analyst William Brandt, Simon Pegg as technician Benji Dunn, and Paula Patton as agent Jane Carter.
The movie begins with Ethan Hunt being broken out of a Russian prison by Jane Carter and Benji Dunn and being tasked with stopping a rogue agent named Kurt Hendricks (played by Michael Nyqvist), who has acquired a Russian nuclear launch device and plans to use it to start a devastating nuclear war between the United States and Russia. Hendricks is a former nuclear strategist who believes that a nuclear war is necessary to bring about global peace and has convinced a team of nuclear experts to help him.
The mission takes Ethan and his team to various locations around the world, including Budapest, Moscow, Dubai, and Mumbai. Along the way, they are faced with a number of challenges, including a thrilling chase sequence on the rooftops of a Dubai skyscraper, a daring heist in the Kremlin, and a high-speed car chase through the streets of Mumbai.
Eventually, Ethan and his team are able to track down Hendricks and stop him from launching a nuclear strike, but not before several tense and thrilling action sequences that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. In the end, the team is vindicated and the IMF is reinstated, setting the stage for future missions.
