Mission: Impossible - Fallout is a 2018 action spy film directed by Christopher McQuarrie and starring Tom Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt. The film is the sixth installment in the Mission: Impossible film franchise and is set two years after the events of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
The movie opens with Ethan Hunt receiving a mission to intercept stolen plutonium before it falls into the hands of a terrorist group known as the Apostles. After a botched mission in Berlin, the Apostles manage to get their hands on the plutonium, and Ethan is forced to form an uneasy alliance with CIA agent August Walker (Henry Cavill) to try and retrieve it.
The mission takes the IMF team to various locations around the globe, including Paris and Kashmir. Along the way, they encounter a former enemy in the form of arms dealer White Widow (Vanessa Kirby) and have to deal with the reappearance of Syndicate leader Solomon Lane (Sean Harris).
As the tension mounts and the stakes get higher, Ethan finds himself racing against time to prevent a global catastrophe. He must outwit the Apostles, who have a plan to detonate the stolen plutonium and usher in a new world order.
Mission: Impossible - Fallout features spectacular stunts and action sequences, many of which were performed by Tom Cruise himself, including a HALO jump and a helicopter chase over the mountains of Kashmir. The film received critical acclaim and was a commercial success, grossing over $791 million worldwide.
