Holly Khun is a young woman from Chicago who has a passion for Christmas trees. She is known as "Miss Christmas" in the city and is responsible for finding the perfect tree for the annual holiday display in the plaza. This year, however, the tree that Holly had picked out was damaged, and with the lighting ceremony only ten days away, she is desperate to find a replacement.
Searching through the fan mail that she has received, Holly comes across a letter from a young boy named Joey McNary, who lives in Klaus, Wisconsin. In the letter, Joey tells Holly about a beautiful tree that he and his father, Sam, had seen while exploring the woods near their home.
Holly is intrigued by Joey's description of the tree and decides to make a trip to Klaus to see it for herself. When she arrives in the small town, she meets Joey's father, Sam, who is initially skeptical of Holly's motives but eventually warms up to her.
Together, Holly and Sam set out to find the tree that Joey had described in his letter. Along the way, they encounter a series of obstacles, including bad weather and a group of tree poachers who are determined to steal the perfect tree for themselves.
Despite these challenges, Holly and Sam manage to find the tree and transport it back to Chicago in time for the lighting ceremony. Along the way, they also develop feelings for each other and realize that sometimes the most magical things can happen when we least expect them.
