Rebel Hearts: A Tale of Shattered Love

Comedy,Romance  United States of America

"Mischief" is a coming-of-age comedy movie directed by Mel Damski and released in 1985. Set in the 1950s, the film follows Jonathan Bellah, a shy and nerdy high school student who spends most of his time tinkering with gadgets and dreaming of girls. Jonathan's luck with the opposite sex changes when he meets Gene Harbrough, a rebellious and charismatic student whose bad-boy reputation makes him irresistible to the female population.

As Gene takes Jonathan under his wing, the two become unlikely friends. Gene teaches Jonathan the art of seduction, encouraging him to be more confident and adventurous in his pursuit of girls. Jonathan quickly learns the ropes and begins to break out of his shell, taking risks and experiencing new things. However, their friendship is tested when Gene falls for Bunny Miller, a pretty and popular girl who is already taken.

Despite Gene's feelings for Bunny, her wealthy and conservative parents disapprove of him because of his lower-class background. While Gene struggles to win Bunny over and prove his worth to her parents, Jonathan becomes intrigued by a new girl in town, Marilyn, and decides to pursue her. As tensions rise between the two friends, they are forced to confront their own insecurities and the realities of growing up.

"Mischief" is a nostalgic and lighthearted look at teenage romance and rebellion in a simpler time. The film features an ensemble cast of up-and-coming actors, including Doug McKeon as Jonathan, Chris Nash as Gene, and Kelly Preston as Bunny. The film's soundtrack also features several classic 1950s hits, adding to the film's overall retro feel.
