In the movie Mirage, Vera (Adriana Ugarte) is a happily married mother who lives in a high-rise apartment building with her husband David (Álvaro Morte) and their young daughter Gloria. One stormy evening, Vera goes to her balcony to check the weather and sees a young boy in the apartment across from hers, struggling to breathe. She rushes over to help and manages to revive him just as the paramedics arrive.
However, when Vera returns to her own apartment, she realizes that things are not quite as she remembers them. Her husband and daughter are gone, and she now lives in a different apartment. As she tries to figure out what has happened, she discovers that she has somehow traveled back in time to 1989, and that her actions have had unforeseen and dangerous consequences.
Vera soon realizes that the boy she saved, Nico (Chino Darín), is still in danger, and that she needs to find a way to stop the events that led to his near-death experience. Along the way, she meets a scientist named Max (Javier Gutiérrez), who explains to her that she is experiencing a phenomenon called "mirage," in which past and present become intertwined.
As Vera races against the clock to save Nico, she must also navigate the challenges of trying to convince her husband and daughter that she is from the future, while also avoiding the attention of a dangerous criminal who is responsible for the chain of events that led to Nico's predicament. Ultimately, Vera must make a difficult choice that will determine the fate of those around her and her own future.
