In Mimic 2, a high school biology teacher named Remi Panos discovers that the Judas bugs that were created to eradicate the cockroach population in the first film have evolved to look and act like humans. However, they still maintain their deadly instincts and begin to kill people in order to survive.
As the body count rises, Remi teams up with a pest control officer named Sal, who is convinced that the Judas bugs are to blame for the murders. Together, they try to stop the mutated insects before they can reproduce and completely take over.
Along the way, they encounter a teenage girl named Casey, who was infected with the Judas bug DNA after being bitten. Together, the unlikely trio must fight for their lives and figure out how to stop the bugs from spreading their deadly genes.
Mimic 2 was released in 2001 and was directed by Jean de Segonzac. It stars Alix Koromzay, Bruno Campos, and Will Estes. Despite mixed reviews, the film was successful enough to spawn a third installment in the Mimic franchise.
