The asset in question is a former police officer from the city who has information on corrupt officials. The American operatives are led by James Silva (played by Mark Wahlberg), a highly skilled and ruthless operative with a troubled past.
The tactical command team provides surveillance and support from a remote location, including drone reconnaissance and satellite tracking. As they make their way through the city, the team encounters numerous obstacles, including rival gangs, corrupt police officers, and heavily armed assassins.
Meanwhile, a mysterious figure known only as "The Mother" monitors their progress from afar, and it becomes clear that there are other parties interested in obtaining the information the asset possesses.
Tensions rise as the team faces betrayal from unexpected sources, and their race against time becomes increasingly desperate. Along the way, they must also confront their own inner demons and personal issues.
The film is directed by Peter Berg and also stars Lauren Cohan, John Malkovich, and Iko Uwais. It was released in 2018.
