Mickey Hardaway is a talented sketch artist who has always felt like an outsider. He has suffered years of physical and verbal abuse from his alcoholic father, causing him to become withdrawn and socially anxious. When his father dies unexpectedly, Mickey spirals out of control and turns to alcohol and drugs to numb his pain.
Desperate to find a way to cope with his trauma, Mickey agrees to see renowned psychiatrist Dr. Rebecca Martinez for in-house therapy. Under her guidance, Mickey begins to confront the deep-rooted issues that have been holding him back, and he starts to open up about his past.
As Mickey continues his therapy sessions, he starts to channel his pain and trauma into his artwork, creating some of his most powerful pieces yet. But as he becomes more successful in the art world, he also attracts attention from those who want to exploit his talent for their own gain.
Mickey also strikes up a complicated relationship with one of Dr. Martinez's other patients, a young woman named Charlie who is struggling with her own demons. Their connection becomes a source of comfort for both of them, but also threatens to derail Mickey's progress in therapy.
As Mickey navigates the complexities of his therapy and his burgeoning art career, he must confront the demons of his past and find the strength to forge a new path for himself.
