Michael McCrea is an 18-year-old living in a working-class Dublin neighborhood with his grandfather. He is a typical young man who enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, and dreaming of a better life. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when he agrees to hold drugs for his friend's older brother, who is involved in the local drug trade.
Unfortunately, Michael is caught by the police and sentenced to three months in prison. As he adjusts to life behind bars, he must navigate the world of prison politics and violence while trying to stay out of trouble. Meanwhile, his grandfather struggles to come to terms with Michael's situation, blaming himself for not being more involved in his grandson's life.
As Michael serves his time, he begins to question his own choices and the pressures that led him down the path to criminal activity. Through therapy sessions and interactions with other inmates, he starts to redefine his sense of self and gain a deeper understanding of the impact of his actions on himself and those around him.
The film, directed by Frank Berry, is a gritty and realistic portrayal of the Irish justice system, as well as the struggles faced by young people growing up in disadvantaged communities. It stars Dafhyd Flynn as Michael and Lalor Roddy as his grandfather.
