The martial arts rock band, known as Dragon Sound, consists of members who have found brotherhood in both their love of music and their training in taekwondo. They are led by John, a black belt in taekwondo who has also been adopted by a Japanese family and seeks to reconnect with his long-lost father.
The band quickly becomes a hit in Miami, but their success also catches the attention of a group of motorcycle ninjas who are controlling the city's drug trade. Led by Yashito, the ninjas seek to eliminate Dragon Sound and maintain their hold on the drug market.
The conflict between the two groups escalates, culminating in a finale where Dragon Sound and the ninjas face off in a bloody battle to the death. With their martial arts and musical talents combined, Dragon Sound fights to protect their friends and their city from the ruthless ninjas.
Miami Connection, released in 1987, has since gained a cult following for its over-the-top action scenes, cheesy '80s music, and endearing message of loyalty and friendship.
