Memoria is a psychological drama film directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. The main character of the film is Jessica, a Scottish orchid farmer who is visiting her ill sister in Bogotรก, Colombia. While there, she meets Hernรกn, a young musician who becomes her guide and companion during her stay.
One day, Jessica meets an archaeologist named Vincent, who is in charge of monitoring a century-long construction project to tunnel through the Andes mountain range. Vincent is interested in the sounds that Jessica has been hearing at night, which sound like underground explosions. He invites her to visit the construction site and investigate the source of the noise.
As the days go by, Jessica becomes increasingly obsessed with the sounds and begins to experience disturbing visions and strange phenomena. She discovers that her experiences are connected to the history and culture of the indigenous people who once lived in the area.
