Melody is a 1971 British film directed by Waris Hussein. It follows the story of two young teenagers, Daniel Latimer (Mark Lester) and Melody Perkins (Tracy Hyde), who fall in love and want to get married, despite being only eleven years old.

They both attend a strict school where they are not allowed to interact with each other, but they manage to find ways to sneak out together. They dream of a future where they can be together forever. Their parents are initially against the idea of their children getting married, but they eventually come around to the idea.

Daniel and Melody go through with their plan to get married in secret, but their happiness is put to the test when their parents find out. Despite facing widespread criticism and disapproval from their families and the community, Daniel and Melody refuse to give up on their love.

The film features original songs by the Bee Gees and includes performances by Olivia Newton-John and Roy Kinnear. Melody was a critical and commercial success in the UK, but it was not as well-received internationally. Nevertheless, it has become a cult classic and is often referred to as the British version of Romeo and Juliet.
