Melancholia is a 2011 science fiction drama film directed by Lars von Trier. The film stars Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg as two sisters whose strained relationship is taken to a new level as a previously undiscovered planet named Melancholia is set to collide with Earth.
