Comedy  France

Me, Myself and Mum is a French autobiographical comedy-drama film that was released in 2013. The film is directed by Guillaume Gallienne and is based on his stage play of the same name. Gallienne also stars in the lead role of the film, playing himself and his mother.

The film follows Guillaume from his childhood years where he is raised by a mother who wants him to be more feminine. As a result, Guillaume starts to adopt the role of a girl and becomes increasingly interested in the world of fashion and beauty. In his teenage years, Guillaume starts to explore his sexuality and comes to the realization that he is attracted to men.

As he gets older, Guillaume continues to struggle with his identity but decides to come out to his mother as gay. However, his mother cannot accept this and continues to see her son as a girl. This leads Guillaume to enter into a series of relationships with men while also exploring his feminine side through fashion and make-up.

Eventually, Guillaume meets a woman named Aimee who he falls in love with. Despite his initial reservations and fears of being in a heterosexual relationship, Guillaume decides to pursue a relationship with Aimee.

The film is a poignant and humorous exploration of personal identity and the struggle to find oneself. It received critical acclaim upon its release and was nominated for multiple awards including the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize.
