Ana is a young woman working in a monotonous job at a seafood restaurant. One day, she experiences a brief power outage at work, and when the lights come back, she finds herself in a completely different world.
In this new world, Ana joins a group of female soldiers fighting a never-ending war, led by Marsha, their commanding officer. The women are all skilled warriors and are forced to fight against a group of male soldiers.
As she trains with the women, Ana discovers a sense of freedom she has never experienced before, as she becomes part of an uninhibited sisterhood and learns to fight for herself. However, as time passes, Ana begins to realize that she may not be the ruthless killer the women believe her to be.
As Ana struggles with her inner conflict, she must find a way back to her old world before it's too late. Mayday is a surreal and visually stunning film that explores themes of femininity, identity, and the desire for freedom.
