In Maximum Risk, Alain Moreau is a French police officer who travels to the United States to identify and retrieve his deceased, identical twin brother’s body. However, Alain discovers that his brother was living a double life as a member of the Russian mafia and has been murdered in a violent brawl.
As Alain tries to uncover the truth behind his brother’s death, he discovers that his brother was involved in a conspiracy involving the Russian and French governments. Meanwhile, Alain becomes romantically involved with his brother’s girlfriend, Alex, who is also drawn into the dangerous plot.
With the help of a former FBI agent, Alain and Alex dodge ruthless Russian mobsters and corrupt FBI agents as they race against time to uncover the truth and bring the conspiracy to light.
The movie is an action-packed thriller that features intense fight scenes, car chases, and explosions. Belgian martial artist and actor Jean-Claude Van Damme plays the role of Alain Moreau, while French actress Natasha Henstridge portrays Alex. The film was directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Ringo Lam and released in 1996.
