Max Reload and the Nether Blasters is a comedy-adventure film set in a small town video game store. Max, played by Tom Plumley, is a video game store clerk who becomes the only hope for his town after he accidentally unleashes the forces of evil from a cursed Colecovision game.
The game, called "Nether Dungeon," is a classic game that has been hidden away for decades. When Max and his two friends, Liz and Reggie, rediscover the game, they decide to give it a try. However, they soon realize that the game is cursed and that they have unleashed the evil forces of the game's villain, the Nether Ghoul.
As the trio tries to figure out how to defeat the Nether Ghoul, they are joined by the game's creator, Eugene Wylder (played by Greg Grunberg), who has been trapped in the game for decades. Together, they must navigate the dangerous levels of the game and battle the Ghoul's minions, all while trying to find a way to defeat the ultimate evil.
Max and his friends find themselves in a race against time as the Nether Ghoul seeks to escape the game and take over the real world. With the fate of their town hanging in the balance, Max must use his gaming skills to save the day and become the hero he never thought he could be.
