Material Girls is a 2006 comedy-drama film starring Hilary and Haylie Duff as the two sisters, Tanzie and Ava Marchetta. The Marchetta sisters are living the high life in Beverly Hills, constantly attending parties, buying designer clothes and cosmetics, and generally enjoying their wealthy lifestyle.
However, their world is turned upside down when a scandal rocks their family's cosmetics empire. A class-action lawsuit is filed against the company, and the Marchetta sisters' father is arrested for fraud. Their assets are frozen, and they are forced to move out of their luxurious mansion and into a small apartment.
The sisters quickly realize they have been living in a bubble and have no idea how to fend for themselves. They turn to their loyal housekeeper, Inez, for guidance and support. Along the way, they also meet a handsome and charming young man named Henry who works at the local diner.
As they try to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, the sisters must also face the harsh reality of their father's deception and the impact it has had on the lives of their employees and customers. They decide to take matters into their own hands and work to clear their father's name and restore the family business.
Material Girls is a heartwarming and humorous tale of two privileged sisters who must learn to value the important things in life beyond wealth and status.
