In the Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant, Agent Coulson and Agent Sitwell are tasked with finding a way to prevent Emil Blonsky, also known as the Abomination, from being released from prison and joining the Avengers Initiative. The World Security Council believes that Blonsky's military background and experience fighting the Hulk make him a valuable asset to the team.
However, Nick Fury disagrees and does not want to release Blonsky due to his volatile nature and the danger he poses. To prevent his release, Coulson and Sitwell hatch a plan to send a patsy to sabotage a meeting with General Thunderbolt Ross, who is leading the effort to release Blonsky.
They select Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, as the patsy and decide that he will go in and act so obnoxiously that Ross will be forced to cancel the meeting. Coulson and Sitwell meet with Stark in a restaurant and explain their plan to him. Initially reluctant, Stark eventually agrees to go along with it when he realizes that keeping Blonsky in prison is the right thing to do.
Stark meets with Ross and proceeds to annoy him with his antics, such as constantly interrupting and making sarcastic remarks. Eventually, Ross becomes so frustrated that he cancels the meeting and refuses to release Blonsky.
