Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter is a short film that follows Agent Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, as she works for the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) after World War II. One year after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, Peggy is struggling to be taken seriously as a woman in a male-dominated field.
She is assigned to retrieve the mysterious Zodiac chemical, which has the power to create devastating weapons. Despite being underestimated by her male colleagues, Peggy uses her skills and intelligence to track down the Zodiac and stop it from falling into the wrong hands.
Along the way, she enlists the help of Howard Stark, played by Dominic Cooper, who provides her with various gadgets and helps her elude her superiors who are trying to stop her from completing her mission. In the end, Peggy successfully retrieves the Zodiac and proves herself as a valuable member of the SSR.
The film introduces audiences to the character of Peggy Carter, who would go on to become a fan favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in her own television series Agent Carter.
