Married Life is a drama film released in 2007. It is directed by Ira Sachs and is based on a novel by John Bingham. The film stars Chris Cooper, Patricia Clarkson, Pierce Brosnan, and Rachel McAdams in the lead roles.
The movie is set in the 1940s and revolves around Harry (Chris Cooper), who is a gentle and kind-hearted man, but also married to Pat (Patricia Clarkson). For years, Harry has been a faithful husband, but when he falls in love with the beautiful and adventurous Kay (Rachel McAdams), he is torn between his loyalty to his wife and his desire for a new life with Kay.
As Harry is unable to decide what to do, he confides in his best friend Richard (Pierce Brosnan), who also happens to be attracted to Kay. Together, they hatch a plan to kill Pat so that Harry can start a new life with Kay.
However, things don't go as planned, and the situation becomes increasingly complicated as everyone involved begins to have second thoughts and feelings of guilt. It turns out that Pat is not quite as innocent as everyone thought, and Kay has secrets of her own.
Married Life explores the dark side of human relationships and the consequences of infidelity, betrayal, and murder. The film received mixed reviews from critics but was praised for its strong performances and suspenseful storyline.
