Marquis de Sade: Justine is a 1969 French erotic drama film directed by Jesus Franco, based on the novel Justine, or The Misfortunes of Virtue by Marquis de Sade. The film follows the story of Justine (played by Romina Power), who after losing her family and being thrown into a cruel world, is forced to navigate through a series of challenges that threaten both her life and her virtue.

Justine is taken in by a convent where the Mother Superior (played by Mercedes McCambridge) takes a twisted pleasure in torturing the girls in her care. Justine's sister Juliette (played by Maria Rohm) also joins the convent, but she quickly betrays Justine and leaves with a wealthy man. Justine then finds herself at the mercy of a succession of men, all of whom have their own perverse, sick desires.

Throughout the film, Justine is subjected to various sexual and physical tortures, including beatings, whippings, and even being buried alive. She is forced to marry an aristocrat who takes pleasure in inflicting pain, and is later thrown into a prison where she is raped by a sadistic guard.

In the end, Justine succumbs to her fate and is fully corrupted, giving in to the debauchery and cruelty of the world around her. The film is a dark and disturbing exploration of the human condition and the consequences of giving in to base desires.
