Marked for Death is a 1990 American action-thriller film directed by Dwight H. Little and written by Michael Grais and Mark Victor. The film stars Steven Seagal as John Hatcher, a former DEA agent who returns to his hometown after retiring. However, he soon finds that his old neighborhood has been taken over by a violent Jamaican drug gang led by Screwface (Basil Wallace).
Hatcher becomes determined to stop the drug dealers and their violent ways, but soon discovers that they have targeted him and his family for retribution. With the help of a fellow DEA agent and a Jamaican cop, Hatcher sets out to take down Screwface and his gang.
As the violence escalates, Hatcher realizes that he must take drastic measures to protect his family and put an end to the drug trade. The film culminates in a dramatic showdown between Hatcher and Screwface, in which Hatcher must fight for his life and the safety of his loved ones.
Marked for Death was a commercial success upon its release, grossing over $58 million worldwide. It was also praised for its action sequences and Seagal's performance as Hatcher. However, it was criticized for its portrayal of Jamaican culture and its use of stereotypes.
