Mardock Scramble: The First Compression is a 2010 Japanese anime film directed by Susumu Kudo and based on the novel by Tow Ubukata. The film follows the story of Rune Ballot, a young girl who is rescued from a life of prostitution by Shell Septinous, a wealthy casino manager who offers her a new life.
With Shell's help, Rune receives a new body and becomes a cyborg, endowed with superhuman abilities. She also develops a close relationship with Oeufcoque, a sentient, shape-shifting weapon who becomes her protector and close friend.
However, as Rune begins to uncover the truth about Shell's past and his motives for rescuing her, she becomes a target for his wrath. He attempts to kill her by blowing up her car, but she miraculously survives and sets out to seek revenge against her former benefactor.
As Rune delves deeper into the seedy underworld of Mardock City, she must confront her own demons and the harsh realities of her past as a prostitute. With the help of Oeufcoque and a team of allies, she sets out to take down Shell and his criminal empire once and for all.
