Map of the Human Heart is a romantic fantasy film directed by Vincent Ward and released in 1992. The movie is about an Inuit boy named Avik, who lives in the Arctic Circle, and a Metis girl named Albertine. Years later, during the Second World War, Avik is serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force and is shot down over London. Avik decides to follow Russell's advice and travels to Montreal, where he hopes to find Albertine.
Despite the distance and time that have separated them, Avik and Albertine still love each other. However, they come from very different cultural backgrounds, and their families and communities are opposed to their relationship. The movie shows their struggle to overcome these cultural differences and find a way to be together.
