Serge Pilardosse, played by Gérard Depardieu, is a former slaughterhouse worker who embarks on a journey to find missing payslips in order to receive his pension. Along the way, he not only finds his former employers but also rekindles old relationships and reflects on his life.
The film explores themes of aging, identity, and the changing nature of work and relationships. It features a strong performances from Depardieu alongside Isabelle Adjani, Yolande Moreau, and Benoît Poelvoorde.
Directed by Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern, Mammuth won the Special Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival in 2010.
