Malevolent is a horror movie directed by Olaf de Fleur Johannesson. It follows Angela and Jackson, a brother-sister duo who scam people by pretending to be paranormal investigators. They collaborate with people who claim that their homes or buildings are plagued by spirits, and then they perform staged exorcisms to provide relief to their clients and walk away with money.
Their latest job is a haunted mansion that could provide a significant payoff. However, when they begin to investigate the mansion, they realize that it's not a hoax. they found that the mansion had a gruesome past, which includes the suicide of the former owner's wife, and the ghosts of the deceased begin to torment them in various ways. As they attempt to flee, Jackson is trapped inside and Angela must confront the supernatural forces alone.
