Madame Evening Glory

Drama  Japan

Madame Evening Glory, also known as "Lady Flower Fist," is a 1978 Japanese exploitation film directed by Yukihiro Sawada and starring Yoko Azusa, Naomi Tani, and Jun Nakahara. The film is notorious for its graphic depiction of rape, torture, and BDSM.

The plot of the film revolves around Yuriko, a young woman who is kidnapped by a sadistic photographer named Kizaki. Kizaki takes Yuriko to his studio and proceeds to rape and torture her while taking photographs of the ordeal. He then uses the photos to blackmail Yumeji, Yuriko's older sister and a respected flower arrangement teacher.

Yumeji is forced to visit Kizaki in order to protect her family's honor. However, Kizaki's true desire all along was to have his way with Yumeji, and he proceeds to rape and torture her as well. Yumeji is eventually able to overcome Kizaki's abuse and exact revenge using her knowledge of flower arrangement.

Madame Evening Glory has been criticized for its explicit depiction of sexual violence and has been classified as "pink film," a genre of Japanese softcore pornography. Despite its controversial subject matter, the film has gained a cult following and is considered a classic of its genre.
