Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is a 2012 computer-animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and directed by Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath, and Conrad Vernon. It is the third installment in the Madagascar film series and follows the adventures of Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippopotamus as they try to return to their home in New York after escaping from a zoo in Madagascar.
In an attempt to catch the penguins and chimps who broke the bank at a Monte Carlo casino, the four friends travel to Europe and end up in Rome, where they meet a group of circus animals. Seeking the help of the circus animals to get back to the zoo, they end up joining the circus and going on a tour throughout Europe.
However, their cover is soon blown when French animal-control officer Capitaine Chantel DuBois picks up their scent and starts pursuing them relentlessly. With the help of their new circus friends, Alex and company must find a way to evade DuBois and make it back to their home in New York.
The film features an all-star cast that includes Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric the Entertainer, and Frances McDormand as the voice of Capitaine Chantel DuBois. The movie was a commercial success and grossed over $746 million worldwide.
