Mac and Me is a 1988 sci-fi adventure movie directed by Stewart Raffill. The movie follows the story of an alien creature that accidentally gets separated from his family when their spaceship crash-lands on planet Earth. The creature, referred to as MAC, is soon discovered by a team of NASA agents who try to capture and study him.
In an attempt to escape from the agents, MAC ends up at a local shopping mall, where he is eventually befriended by a young boy named Eric, who uses a wheelchair. Eric and MAC quickly develop a bond, and together, they embark on a journey to reunite MAC with his family.
As they journey across the country, they encounter several obstacles, including obstacles placed by the NASA agents, who are still in pursuit of MAC. Along the way, Eric and MAC also make new friends, including a girl named Debbie, who helps them evade the NASA agents.
Despite the challenges they face, Eric and MAC eventually succeed in finding MAC's family and help them repair their spaceship. The movie ends with a heartwarming scene of MAC bidding farewell to Eric and his family, before taking off into space with his reunited family.
Mac and Me was widely criticized for its similarities to Steven Spielberg's E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. However, it was still well-received by audiences and has since gained a cult following.
