Lynn and Lucy have been inseparable since they were young girls, growing up in a small town in the UK. Although they both dreamed of escaping their hometown and making a life elsewhere, they never ventured far from home. Lynn married her high school sweetheart and settled down to raise her daughter, while Lucy bounced from job to job and relationship to relationship.
When Lucy unexpectedly becomes pregnant, Lynn is excited to welcome a new member into their friendship circle. But Lucy doesn't take to motherhood as easily as Lynn had hoped. She struggles with postpartum depression and the demands of her new role as a mother. Her unpredictable behavior puts a strain on their friendship, causing Lynn to question whether their bond is as strong as she thought.
