The television reporter, Guddu Shukla, played by Kartik Aaryan, is sent to Mathura to cover a story on the increasing trend of live-in relationships in small towns. He meets a strong-willed woman named Rashmi Trivedi, played by Kriti Sanon, who works at a local cable news channel.
After a series of events, Guddu and Rashmi decide to live-in together to better understand the concept of live-in relationships. However, their decision brings them under the scrutiny of their conservative families and society.
As the pressure to get married mounts, Guddu and Rashmi must navigate their way through cultural barriers, family expectations, societal norms, and their own personal issues.
The film also features an ensemble cast including Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Vinay Pathak in supporting roles. Luka Chuppi was a commercial success and received positive reviews for its portrayal of societal issues with a touch of humor.
