Lucy, played by Scarlett Johansson, is a young woman living in Taipei, Taiwan who is forced by her boyfriend to deliver a briefcase to a group of gangsters. While doing so, she is kidnapped and implanted with a drug that is meant to be sold on the black market. However, the drug leaks into her system and begins to enhance her brain's capabilities, unlocking new and more powerful abilities.
As Lucy becomes more and more powerful, she begins to unravel the mystery of the drug, discovering that it is actually designed to enhance intelligence to the point where advanced beings can be created. With her newfound abilities, Lucy sets out to stop the drug from being sold and to find the scientists responsible for creating it.
Along the way, she teams up with a French police captain, played by Morgan Freeman, who has been studying the human brain and its potential for years. Together, they work to unlock the full potential of Lucy's abilities and use them to take down the men responsible for her predicament.
As Lucy's mind expands, she gains abilities such as telekinesis, the ability to manipulate time and space, and even the power to absorb knowledge instantly from any source. She becomes a force to be reckoned with, taking on her captors and anyone who stands in her way with deadly precision and intelligence.
Ultimately, Lucy must make a decision about what to do with her newfound powers and the knowledge she has acquired. Will she continue to use her abilities to fight for justice and protect the world, or will she seek out greater knowledge and transcend humanity altogether?
