Lucky Grandma follows the story of an elderly Chinese grandma, known only as 'Grandma Wong', who lives in New York's Chinatown. After visiting a fortune teller who predicts good luck for her, she decides to take her life into her own hands and heads to a nearby casino.
At the casino, she meets another gambler named Big Pong, who suggests that they team up and take on the high-stakes game of baccarat. Together, they win big, but their luck takes a turn for the worse when a gang of armed robbers raids the casino. In the chaos, grandma manages to get away with a bag of money, which makes her a target for both the robbers and a rival gang.
As she tries to get rid of the money, grandma unwittingly becomes embroiled in a gang war. Caught between the gangs and their ruthless leader, grandma must use all her wit and street smarts to survive. Along the way, she is aided by a young man named Little Handsome, who is trying to make a name for himself in the world of gangsters.
