Love Spreads is a drama-comedy film directed by Jamie Adams. It follows the story of a band called Glass Heart who are in the midst of creating their second album. The band comprises three very different songwriters - guitarist and frontwoman Kelly (Alia Shawkat), drummer Alastair (Edd Gibson), and bassist Naomi (Tara Lee).
The film opens with the band arriving at Rockfield Studios in Wales, famous for producing some of the greatest rock albums of all time. They are greeted by their producer Evan (Nick Helm) and the label executive Wendy (Juliet Aubrey), who are both eager to see the band succeed. However, it becomes clear that the band is not in harmony, and tensions start to rise as they struggle to write new material.
Kelly, who wrote all the songs on the first album, is finding it hard to come up with new material and is haunted by the success of their first record. Meanwhile, Alastair is struggling with personal demons and is finding it hard to focus on making new music. Naomi, who has always been the most laid-back member of the band, is becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress.
As the band attempts to overcome their creative differences, they are forced to confront their own personal issues. The arrival of keyboardist Darcy (Chloe Pirrie) shakes things up even further, as she brings a new energy and perspective to the group.
