Love Beats Rhymes is a 2017 American musical drama film directed by RZA and written by Nicole Jefferson Asher. The film stars Azealia Banks in the lead role as Coco, a struggling young rapper who dreams of making it big in the music industry.
However, her strict parents insist that she completes her university degree and pursue a more traditional career. Coco reluctantly agrees, enrolling in a poetry class taught by a no-nonsense professor (Jill Scott).
Despite initially feeling out of place in the class, Coco's natural talent for spoken word quickly catches the attention of her classmates and the professor. Encouraged by their support, she begins to embrace her art and develops a deeper understanding of herself and her place in the world.
Along the way, Coco also finds love with a fellow classmate (Lucien Laviscount) and must navigate the challenges of balancing her passion for music with the demands of her academic and personal life.
