Heidi has been studying this rare planetary alignment for years, and is desperate to secure funding for her students to observe it. August, however, is skeptical of the alignment's significance and thinks the resources would be better spent on exploring ancient ruins he's been studying.
Despite their different opinions about research priorities, Heidi and August find themselves drawn to each other. As they work together, they discover that their fields of study overlap more than they thought - ancient cultures often used astronomical observation to mark important events, for example.
As the date of the alignment approaches, tensions rise. Heidi's department is counting on her to secure funding, while August's department is anxious to start their own project. And when a major discovery is made at the ancient ruins, both academics are forced to choose - follow their passions, or follow their hearts.
